1.- GENERAL INFORMATION.
1.1.- General description of the UPS.
This UPS is built in a metallic structure, where the electronic power is located in and we have access to it through the frontal door.
The external covers of the equipment can be removed completely in order to guarantee an easy start up from any point in front of
any event.
In the right frontal door, it is located the user interface panel, for controlling and managing the UPS.
Due to the high power rate of the UPS, it doesn’t have any battery string inside; they are located in one or several cabinets.
The cooling system of the equipment is based on a hydraulic system (made of water and glycol) and forced cooling, the air is taken
from the baseboard of the UPS and exhausted through the frontal cooling grids placed in the exchanger stage, and located on the
frontal left side of the equipment.
1.1.1.- UPS applications.
This new UPS has been designed to supply stabilized and filtered voltage to sophisticated electronic devices (particularly to data
centres), which must have a power supply free of voltage and frequency fluctuations. Among them there are: hospitals, police
stations, highway tunnels, broadcasting stations, banks, technical offices, etc.
1.1.2.- Power and back up time.
Thanks to its modular configuration, the power rates of this series are between 160 KVA and 300 KVA.
It is not foreseen any internal battery string, so to achieve the wanted back up time is needed the use of additional cabinets them.
1.1.3.- Safety and easy use.
All the controls are properly insulated and disconnected from hazardous voltages.
The control for overloads and overtemperatures guarantee an immediate intervention, in case one of them occurs during its
operation.
Through the frontal panel, the end-user can visualize the status of the UPS and make transference and shutdowns manoeuvres in
an easy way . See chapter 3.
There is the possibility to connect one or more external E.P.O. buttons (not supplied). Thanks to them, in case of fire, it is possible
to control the complete UPS shutdown. See chapter 2.7.4.
The UPS monitoring can be remotely managed in an easy way either through a personal computer with a specific communication
software(optional), or through a remote panel, optional too, they are essential in case of unattended places. See chapters
1.2.5–1.2.6.
1.2.- Configuration and optional devices.
1.2.1.- Standard configuration.
The standard configuration is to assemble the UPS in only one cabinet, which will have the same dimensions in all the possible
configurations and sizes:
- Six pulses: 160 – 300 kVA
- Twelve pulses: 160 – 300 KVA
- Twelve THD filter: 160 – 300 KVA
