5.2 Terminal box orientation
If necessary, the orientation of the motor, and thus that of
the terminal box can be changed.
- Remove the motor attachment screws and turn the motor
to the desired position.
Take care not to damage the casing
gasket, and reinstall it correctly.
The terminal box must not be installed in the 6 o clock
position for chilled water
.
5.3 Electrical connections
The electrical connections and the inspections have
to be done by a qualified electrician and comply with
the appicable local standards.
See name plate of the motor for electrical characteristics
(frequency, voltage, nominal current).
Power supply network
Single-phase 230 V : three-conductors cable connected to
L, N + earth terminals of the circulator (
See FIG. 3
).
Three-phase 230 V or 400 V : four-conductor cable
connected to L1, L2, L3 + earth (
See FIG. 4
).
Double pump requires for safety reasons separatlely switch
controlled leads to each motor head.
DO NOT FORGET TO CONNECT EARTH.
A connection error would damage the
motor.
The power cable must never touch the pipe or the
pump ; make sure that it is sheltered from any
humidity.
5.4 Choice of speed
3 speed of functionning are possible for all models. The
choice of speed is done manually by a speed selector in the
terminal box.
Switch off the pump, Remove the terminal-box cover.
Three-phase
: the setting is done manually by means of the
speed selector plug, the required speed set in front of the
selector narrow (
See FIG.4
).
Single-phase
: set the three-speed selector switch at the
required speed (
See FIG. 3
).
The new speed is visualised inside the box and outside
through a window after screwing the box cover (
See FIG 2
).
On the double models operating in parallel, the motors must
both turn at the same speed. Make sure that the same
number is showing on the cover of the terminal boxes of
both motors.
Any error in the voltage damages the
motors.
6. STARTING-UP
6.1 Filling - degassing
Never operate the circulator WITHOUT
WATER
.
- Open valves on both sides of the circulator and fill the
installation completely.
- Bleed the circuit at the high point.
- The circulator is drained automatically.
Pump can be vented by hand if necessary: unscrew the
plug a few turns, close it when water runs out and there are
no more aire bubbles
(
See FIG. 5
).
6.2 Setting - chek of direction of rotation (three-phase only)
Switch on the motor and check that it turns in the correct
direction indicated by the green running light (
See FIG. 4a
).
On incorrect rotation the light remains dark, in this case
reverse two phase wires on the motor terminal block.
Power up the motor to start the circulator.
Risk of being burning. In operation, the motor may be
hotter than 100 °C.
7. MAINTENANCE - SERVICING
The circulator need no special maintenance during
operation.
The motor bearing are self-lubriicating.
If the installation is partially or completely drained for a
prolonged shutdown, drain the circulator completely to
avoid jamming problem.
If the motor is removed and reinstalled, take
care not to damage the casing O-ring ; if
necessary, replace it with a new O-ring.
Nota
: with double system, make provision for periodic
changes overs (YN1200 or similar control box).
