Setting up, connecting gas appliances
This chapter contains special information about gas appliances.
Observe also the notes for installation and
connection in the chapters 3. up to 7.!
8.1
Feed combustion air, extract exhaust gases
Gas appliances generate toxic combustion products (CO, CO
2
). Gas appliances may therefore be ope
rated only in adequately ventilated rooms. Supply and exhaust gases must be supplied and/or extracted in
accordance with the appliance rating.
Observe the country-specific regulations and standards for installation, supply of combustion air and ex
haust gas extraction!
The gas installer/authorised district master chimney sweep calculates the supply of combustion air and
exhaust gas extraction required.
Overview of gas appliance types
Type A
Gas appliance not equipped for connection to a chimney or exhaust gas system from the installation room.
Type B
Gas appliance intended for connection to a chimney to extract the exhaust gases from the installation
room. The combustion air is taken directly from the installation room.
