Notes on stainless steel (risk of corrosion!)
● Please note! Even high-quality stainless steel can corrode if handled improperly. Salt, acids, chlo
rine, iodine and food residues destroy the protective coating and can result in corrosion and pit
ting, also with high-quality stainless steel!
● The stainless steel surface creates a new protective layer immediately after damage, but only if
air or oxygen-rich water has time to react with the surface.
● If residues, e.g. lime, protein or starches are not completely removed, it prevents air or oxygen-
rich water from getting to the stainless steel surface. A protective coating cannot be formed and
this causes corrosion e.g. pitting damage, even on high-quality steel. Therefore, clean thoroughly
to prevent residues from sticking.

Cleaning steel hob
● Allow the appliance to cool.
● A larger pan with cold water on the steel hob reduces the cooling period.
.
Use grease-dissolving detergent and a stainless steel spiral sponge to clean the steel hob.
.
Remove heavy contamination or corrosion on the steel hob using an abrasive cleaning agent.
.
Rinse the cleaned surfaces with a clean, damp dish cloth, without the use of a cleaning agent .
Then thoroughly rub the surfaces dry.
.
Temporarily heat the steel hob to dry.
.
Only for extended pauses during operation: Apply a thin layer of cooking fat or cooking oil on the
steel hob. Allow the cooking fat or cooking oil to burn in for a period of approx. 10 minutes at a
temperature of approx. 200
°
C (rotary switch to level 5).
.
During the heating process, switch on the exhaust hood or well ventilate the room.
