5.8.2. Headland position
(For P8 tedder)
The headland position of the 8-rotor tedders can be used to easily make sharp turns when
driving. The
P8
tedder in the “Headland” position is shown in
Fig. 30a
. This position is set by
placing the “Headland” ratchets (
Fig. 30b
and
c
) located at the outermost joints on the machine in
the correct position.
When folding the side arms of the tedder using actuators, the ratchet locks the folding system
lever and the tedder moves to the "Headland" position. The outermost running gears rise to the
specific height (h1).
To fold the tedder for transport, pull and hold the headland ratchet cable as shown in
Fig. 30c
so
that it does not obstruct the tedder's folding mechanism. Continue to fold the tedder's arms actuators
to fold the machine for transport.
