4.2.

 

Qualifications of operator 

To  provide  safe  machine  operation  each  person  being  the  machine  operator  must  meet  the 

following requirements: 

 

Operator should hold driving license, have ability to drive vehicles safely and know road traffic 
rules. 

 

Operator must be in proper physical condition to be able to operate the machine. 

 

Operator  must  not  be  under  the  influence  of  alcohol,  drugs  and  medicines,  which  all  have 
influence on vehicle driving and machine operation. 

 

Operator should be familiarized with this manual and follow its provisions. 

 

Operator should be familiar with working principles of both the vehicle and the machine, and be 
able to recognize and avoid hazards resulting from operation of the aggregate

.

 

 

4.3.

 

Conditions of connecting gritter with vehicle 

 

Prior to the mounting operation, check whether the vehicle's and the gritter's hitch categories are 
compatible and make sure that vehicle's hitch load is adequate for the machine aggregated. 

 

When mounting the machine, examine technical condition of the gritter's hitch assembly. 

 

Use only genuine pins and cotters to mount the gritter on a vehicle. 

 

4.4.

 

Transport 

Tractor gritter should be transported on any transport means in fully compacted position (either 

mounted on tractor or resting at trailer).  

 

During time of transport install on the mower the portable light board and the triangular safety 
sign identifying a slow moving vehicle (

Fig. 6

). 

 

Driving speed should always be appropriate to road conditions and local traffic regulations. 

 

Do not exceed permissible transport speed of 25 km/h. 

 

It is forbidden to ride or to transport any persons or unattached elements on the machinery. 

 

4.4.1.

 

Placing the gritter onto a transport vehicle 

The  carrier  and  the  driver  are  responsible  for  safety  during  the  transport  of  a  gritter.  All 

equipment and parts must be secured during transport.  

The machine should be transported in horizontal position on a transport pallet or directly on the 

floor  of  loading  box  of  a  transport  means  and  secured  against  shifting  (owing  to  gritter’s  linkage 
legs, which are used for mounting to a wooden pallet or floor be means of nails or bolts; protective 
belt can also be used). 

The following rules should be observed so that transporting the gritter on a transport vehicle is 

safe: 

 

Loaded gritter should be performed by means a lifting device while keeping particular caution 
and paying attention, so as the gritter is not exposed to any damage.  

 

Grab the machine by any lifting devices only in places indicated by signs (

Fig. 4

). 

 

Equipment  having  a  higher  lifting  capacity  than  the  weight  of  the  gritter  shown  on  the 
nameplate should be used to hoist the gritter.
