Chimney system inspection
Chimney system inspections should be documented in the form enclosed herein.
Before  commissioning  for  use,  any  modification  or  changes  to  the  flue  liner,  the  chimney
system should be inspected by a qualified chimney inspector.
Chimney duct inspection should be conducted by an authorised chimney sweep.
For solid wood stoves, chimney systems should be cleaned 4 times a year.
Periodic  technical  inspections  should  be  performed  by  a  qualified  chimney  inspector  once  a
year. Ventilation ducts should be cleaned at last once a year, unless conditions of use indicate
otherwise.
Failure to comply with the principles that ensure user and third party safety may result in legal
sanctions.

In case of chimney fire

-

Put out the fire by carefully removing the glowing logs and fully close the stove door.

-

Use  a  chimney  sieve  screen  (metal  mesh  2  x  10mm,  preferably  brass,  on  a  60x60cm

frame).  Place  the  screen  on  the  chimney  top  and  inspect  the  lower  parts  for  cracks
through which fire flames may escape. A hot screen reduces the draft in the chimney
and, consequently, slows down the soot burning process.

-

Pour kitchen salt onto the burning soot.

NOTES
Do not overheat the stove.
Do not touch the stove while it is operating.
Warn children of the burn hazard.
Do not overfire.
Do not modify air inlets in any way.
Do not disassembly the burning chamber.
Do not put out the fire with water.
Do not burn coal, coke, chipboard, chemically treated wood, plastics or waste materials. Your
stove should burn dry, standard firewood only.

Maintenance
The  manner  of  operation  and  the  quality  of  firewood  determine  the  phenomena  inside  the
stove. Therefore, there is a need to maintain and to inspect the stove periodically.
A properly used stove should guarantee trouble-free operation.
Poor  quality  fuels  may  cause  excessive  accumulation  of  creosote  residue  which  should  be
regularly removed.
Before each hating season, the entire stove should be inspected and thoroughly cleaned.
All seals should be replaced with new ones at least once every two years or when required.
It is highly recommended to use original seals of the manufacturer.
To  prevent  creosote  deposits  within  the  heating  system,  burn  stove  with  draft  control  wide
open with the door fully closed for about 10-15 minutes.
Use only proper cleaning equipment to clean the chimney.
The user is responsible to clean the chimney in compliance with the binding local regulations.
During summer months, when the wood stove with a water jacket is idle, water should be kept
in the system.
Switch the circulating pump at least once a month for approx. 5 minutes to protect the system
against  dry  running.  Thus,  the  system  will  be  ready  on  standby  whenever  there  is  a  need  to
use it.
