Changing the camera’s focus
Using macro

Use macro to take close-up photos of subjects, such as flowers or
insects.
Try to hold the camera very still to prevent blurry photos.
Turn the flash off if the distance to the subject is less than 40 cm.

Using auto focus

To take sharp photos, select the appropriate focus according to your
distance from the subject.
In Shooting mode, press [
r
] repeatedly to change the
focus distance option.
Option
Description
(Auto Macro)
Focus on a subject farther than 8 cm
(farther than 50 cm, while using zoom).
(Macro)
Focus on a subject between 8 to 80 cm
(between 50 and 80 cm, while using zoom).
(Super Macro)
Focus on a subject between 3 to 8 cm.
To focus on a subject farther than 80 cm, press [
r
] repeatedly until no
focus distance icon is displayed.
The options may differ depending on the shooting mode.
