The network security code is a 4-digit number necessary for identification or
using the docomo Network Services at reception of your request in docomo
Shop or at docomo Smartphone Care. It can be set any number at the
subscription and also changed later by yourself.
You can change your network security code to the new one using the PC if
you have a "docomo ID/Password" for General support site for PC "My
docomo"*.
*: For information on "My docomo", see the previous page of the last page of
this manual.
You can set two Security codes, namely PIN1 and PIN2, for the UIM. These
codes are set to "0000" at the time of subscription. They can be changed by
yourself.
PIN1 is a 4- to 8-digit security number (code) that must be entered for user
confirmation to prevent unauthorized use by a third party every time you
insert the UIM into the FOMA terminal or when the FOMA terminal is
powered on. By entering the PIN1 code, making/receiving calls and terminal
operations are enabled.
PIN2 code is 4 - 8 digit security code used for using or issuing a user
certification, etc.
* : PIN2 code is not available for the FOMA terminal.
•
If you use newly purchased FOMA terminal with the UIM you used inserted,
use the set PIN1/PIN2 code on the former terminal.
•
If you enter a wrong PIN1 code 3 times consecutively, the PIN1 code is
locked and you cannot use the code. In this case, enter "PIN Unblocking
Key" (PUK) to unlock and then set PIN1 code again.
Enter PUK (8-digits)
→
"OK"
→
Enter a new PIN1 code
→
"OK"
→
Enter
the PIN1 code again
→
Tap "OK".
The PUK code is an 8-digit number for canceling the locked PIN1/PIN2 code.
The PUK code cannot be changed by yourself.
•
If you enter a wrong PUK code 10 times consecutively, the UIM is locked. If
it locked, please contact a docomo Shop.
•
In Japan, even if you tap "Emergency call" on the PUK entry screen, the
emergency numbers of 110/119/118 are not available.
You can set to require the PIN1 code entry for using the FOMA terminal
when the power is turned on.
