Entering Text, Numbers or Symbols
When you are prompted to enter text, the current text
input mode appears above the right soft key:
abc/Abc/ABC, NUM or SYM 1 ~ 4. To change the mode,
press the right soft key until the required mode is
displayed.
abc/Abc/ABC: allows you to enter lower-case and
upper-case letters. You can change cases by pressing
the key.
SYM1 ~ 4: allows you to enter various symbols and
punctuation marks. To view more symbols, press the
More soft key.
NUM: allows you to enter numbers.
Browser Setting
This menu option allows you to:
• Set up the proxy servers
• Choose one of the proxy servers to be used when
accessing the Wireless Web
P roxy setting: allows you to set up seven proxy
servers for the WAP Browser. For each proxy, the
following options are available.
Name: name of the HTTP proxy server.
WDP address: WDP address required to connect to the
Wireless Web.
Security: data transmission mode. Select Secure to
protect your data against unauthorised access;
otherwise, select Non-secure.
Home URL: address of your startup homepage.
When the default homepage is displayed, you can
delete it using the
key and enter your own choice.
To enter any special characters (/ for example), use the
symbolic mode (see page 44).
Dial number: PPP server phone number.
Login: PPP server login ID.
Password: PPP server password.
Network type: network type. Select V32 Transparent,
V32 Non-transparent, V110 Transparent or V110
Non-transparent.
Note
: The WAP Browser settings may vary, depending
on the service provider. Contact your service
provider for further information.
Current pro x y: allows you to activate one of the
proxies set up.
