Security
Your phone’s security features
Your phone provides security options, including a user-programmable
lock code and special phone number features. To access the Security
menu in standby mode, press [Menu], [0 Next], and enter the 4-digit lock
code. (normally the lock code is the last 4 digits of your phone
number). Press the associated numeric key to access one of the
following Security options:

Restrict
.
Lock code
.
Emergency #
.
Send PIN
.
Clear MEM
.
Reset Phone
.
Voice Privacy
Lock mode
Locking the phone limits all outgoing calls except calls to hard-coded
emergency numbers (911, *911 and #911).
You can lock the phone manually during use, or set the phone to lock
automatically when it is turned on. When the phone is in Lock Mode,
you can answer incoming calls, but you must unlock the phone to
place outgoing calls.
Locking the phone
To lock the phone:
1. Press [MENU] to display the menu.
2. Press [0 Next] for Security and enter your lock code.
3. Press [1 .-’] for Lock Phone.
4. Scroll through the options:
.
never:
The phone remains unlocked.
.
now:
The phone locks immediately and stays locked until the lock
code is entered.
.
on power up:
The phone locks automatically the next time your
phone is powered on and stays locked until the lock code is entered.
5. Press [OK/Message]to save the setting.
Unlocking the phone
When the phone is locked, pressing the navigation key, [MENU], or [OK/Message] displays “ User
Lock” . Enter the phone’s lock code, and the phone will immediately unlock itself.
Dialing in lock mode
You can place calls to emergency (911, *911, #911) and three special numbers you
saved under emergency# in the lock mode. After entering the number press [SEND] to dial.
To place normal outgoing calls in lock mode, enter the lock code to unlock the phone,
and then dial the phone number.
Restrict
This feature allows you to restrict the use of your phone.
To restrict the phone:
1. Press [MENU] to display the menu.
