Troubleshooting
Symptoms
Remedies
No refrigeration,
not chilling
enough or over-
chilling
Fridge not working,
no refrigeration
-
Power plug not properly plugged in
-
No power supply, failure of power socket
-
Fridge power cut off during operation and reconnected not more
than five minutes later
Fridge not too cold
-
Fridge door not properly shut
-
Fridge close to heat source or exposed to direct sunlight
-
Poor ventilation around fridge, causing slow heat dissipation
Fridge working for
a long time
-
Frequent opening of fridge door or the door not properly shut
-
Poor ventilation around fridge, causing slow heat dissipation
-
A large amount of food put to storage at a time, leaving little
space for chilling air ventilation
Refrigerator
chamber too cold,
food frozen
-
Refrigerating temperature set too low, higher temperature setting
for refrigerator chamber recommended
-
Food stored in contact with chilling source on back wall of
refrigerator chamber
Both sides
heated,
producing off-
odour
Front box frame or
side plate of fridge
heated
-
To prevent water condensation at the box frame, there
configured anti-condensation tubes inside the box frame which is
not faulty but normal when the fridge is heated during operation.
-
Heat radiator (condenser) is mounted in either side of the fridge.
It is normal to have heated sides.
Off-odour inside
fridge
-
Food with particular smell should be sealed in airtight package.
-
Check for rotten food.
-
Fridge interior needs to be cleaned.
Fridge
producing
strange noise
Fridge not seating
on a level surface
-
Slightly sloping of the fridge will make operating noise higher.
You may turn the leveling leg beneath the fridge body to make
the fridge level.
Sound of airflow or
running water
-
Only through flow of refrigerant in pipeline can quickly lower the
temperature inside fridge. Refrigerant is in either gas or liquid
form. It produces slight noise when flowing.
Low hum occurring
-
Compressor is working. The hum is a little higher at starting.
High performance fridge is a little more noisy due to powerful
compressor.
Sound of "click" or
"Boom"
-
When you start or stop the refrigerator, the main control board,
start relay, overheat protector and other electrical elements
produce sounds like "click" or "Boom" due to frequent pick-ups
or offs.
Sound of cracking
or “Poop”
-
Fridge produces sound of cracking due to temperature change
that causes cracking of frozen food or due to thermal expansion
and contraction of evaporator and pipeline.
