Safety information
When installing the fax kit, these safety instructions should be followed to reduce the risk of
fire, electric shock and injury.
• Read and understand all instructions.
• Use common sense when installing a kit.
• Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the kit and in the literature
accompanying the kit.
• Do not allow anything to rest on the power cable. Do not place the cables and cords
where they will be abused by persons walking on them.
• Do not allow pets to chew on any cables connected to the kit.
• Never push objects of any kind into the kit.
• Never spill liquid of any kind onto or into the kit.
• Disconnect cord(s) from the kit and refer servicing to qualified service personnel
under the following conditions:
- If liquid has been spilled into the kit.
- If the kit has been exposed to rain or water.
- If the kit does not operate properly after instructions have been followed.
• Avoid installing or using the kit during a lightning storm. There may be a remote risk
of electric shock from lightning.
• Use only No. 26 AWG

or larger telephone line cord.
• Save theses instructions.

Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the fax kit. This kit enables you to send and receive a fax with
your machine.
This guide provides you with information on installation of the kit in your machine. Use the
electronic User's Guide in the Printer software CD to refer to the instructions on sending
and receiving a fax, and also the various features of this kit.
Note, the convention of this guide, is used to provide additional information and detailed
specifications about the product and its features.
