Case II: When replacing problem ‘SLAVE’ hard disk drives…
1.
Find out the problem Slave hard disk drive first using the storage check function.
NOTE: Select the “Storage” menu in the Menu mode, and Storage screen displays the
information about problem hard disk drives.
2.
Turn off the unit.
3.
Remove problem Slave hard disk drives, and then install new ones. Make sure to set
the correct jumper position.
4.
Turn on the unit again.
CAUTION: If you install any used hard disk drive to the Slave position, all data
on a newly installed hard disk drive will be lost.
Moving Hard Disk Drives to Another Unit
1.
Turn off the problem unit, and remove all installed hard disk drives on the unit.
2.
Prepare the normal unit to test hard disk drives removed from the problem unit.
3.
Turn off the normal unit, and if it has any installed hard disk drives on it, remove them.
4.
Install hard disk drives removed from the problem unit on the normal unit at the same
position as the problem unit.
5.
Turn on the normal unit again.
CAUTION
1. If you install a used Master hard disk drive not to the Primary Master but to
another position on another unit, all data on a Master hard disk drive will be lost.
2. If you install a used Master hard disk drive to the Primary Master on another
unit, and the hard disk drive has recorded data on it, all data on other installed
hard disk drives on another unit will be lost. Clear all data on a used Master hard
disk drive before installing on another unit if you want to keep the data on
installed hard disk drives on unit. DO NOT INSTALL A USED MASTER HARD
DISK DRIVE TO ANOTHER UNIT THAT HAS DIFFERENT CHANNEL. THE DVR
SYSTEM MIGHT BE DAMAGED.
