ew*0_protocols
Enables network protocols for booting and other functions. The syntax is:
set ew*0_protocols protocol_value
The options for
protocol_value
are show in Table 4-11.
kbd_hardware_type
Used only on systems with the language variant 3C (Français), this environment
variable sets the keyboard hardware type as either PCXAL or LK411 and enables
the system to interpret the terminal keyboard layout correctly.
Whenever you change the value of
kbd_hardware_type
, you must reset the
system by pressing the
Reset
button or issuing the
initialize
command.
The syntax is:
set kbd_hardware_type keyboard_type
The options for
keyboard_type
are:
language
Specifies the keyboard layout, which is language dependent. The setting of the
language
environment variable must match the language of the keyboard
variant.
Whenever you change the value of
language
, you must reset the system by

initialize
command.

Option
Description
mop
Sets the network protocol to mop (Maintenance
Operations Protocol), the setting typically used
with the Linux operating system.
bootp (default)
Sets the network protocol to bootp, the setting
typically used with the Linux operating system.
bootp, mop
When both are listed, the system attempts to use
the mop protocol first, regardless of which is
listed first. If not successful, it then attempts the
bootp protocol.
pcxal
(default)
Selects the default keyboard hardware type.
lk411
Selects the LK411 keyboard layout for use with language
variant 3C (Français).
