SUGGESTED ROUTINE WATER SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
Keeping the water spray chamber, nozzles and water tank clean are important for optimal
performance. The HU-SOUTHWEST has a number of features that help the unit stay
clean. The on-line cleaning cycle which dumps filtered particles into the drain is
automatic. Every week or two, it is a good idea to check the points shown below to help
the system remain in tip-top shape.
A ball valve is located at the flow end of the
header piping to allow quick and easy flushing
of debris in the header pipes. The ball valve is
located under the spray chamber bottom. When
the water is cool, open the valve, then use the
“JOG PUMP” feature to run the pump. Loose
particles in the header pipes will flush out into
the water tank.
The Hydro-cyclone (HYD) has a Sediment
Tank (SED) where the particles land during
normal operation. Every 25 minutes, the
FLUSH VALVE (FV) opens which allows
water to swish the particles into the drain. This
time is adjustable. See the “Additional Settings
section of this manual. Drain the water tank
then open the end of the Sediment Tank (SED)
to make sure that the particles are flushing out.
After draining the water tank, check the
water pump intake screen (SCRN1). It is
normal to find some lint fly sticking to it.
This can be easily brushed off to keep
water flow to the water pump
unrestricted.
