1 Introduction
The Sandberg Wireless G54 USB (referred to
from now on as “the adapter”) lets you connect
your computer to a wireless network. It enables
you to copy files, surf the Internet, play
networked games, etc. wirelessly. The adapter
is compatible with the 802.11g standard, giving
speeds of up to 54 Mbit/s.
2 Installation
2.1 Installation in Windows
®
Vista
NB: Do not connect the adapter to your computer
yet.
1. Insert the CD provided.
2. Click “Start” and enter “D:\Vista\Setup.exe”
in the search field (where “D” is your CD drive
letter).
3. Select your desired installation language.
4. Click “Next”, then “Next”, then “Install”.
Windows will install the driver software.
5. Click “Finish”.
6. Connect the adapter to your computer’s USB
port.
The adapter is now installed and ready for use.
2.2 Installation in Windows
®
2000/XP
NB: Do not connect the adapter to your computer
yet.
1. Insert the CD provided.
2. Click “Start”, select “Run...” and enter the
path “D:\XP_2000\Setup.exe” (where “D” is
your CD drive letter).
3. Select your desired installation language.
4. Click “Next”. Windows will install the driver
software.
5. Click “Finish”.
6. Connect the adapter to your computer’s USB
port.
The adapter is now installed and ready for use.
3 Connecting to a wireless network
Establish a connection to a wireless device as
follows:
1. Double-click the “Realtek RTL8187 Wireless
Lan Utility” icon in the notification area.
2. Double-click the desired wireless network on
the “Available Network” tab.
