BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
GB
tilled for transportation when crossing
surfaces other than grass, and when
transporting the lawn mower to and from
the area to be mowed.
11.
Never operate the lawn mower with
defective guards, or without safety
devices, for example deflectors and/or
grass catchers, in place.
12.
Do not change the engine governor settings
or overspeed the engine.
13.
Disengage blade and drive clutches before
starting the engine.
14.
Start the engine or switch on the motor
carefully according to instructions and with
feet well away from the blade(s).
15.
Do not tilt the lawn mower when starting
the engine or switching on the motor, except
if the lawn mower has to be tilted for
starting. In this case, do not tilt it more than
absolutely is necessary and lift only the
part which is away from the operator.
16.
Do not start the engine when standing in
front of the discharge chute.
17.
Do not put hands or feet near under rotating
parts. Keep clear off the discharge opening
at all times.
18.
Never pick up or carry a lawn mower while
the engine is running.
19.
Stop the engine and disconnect the spark
plug wire:
19.1
Before cleaning blockages or
unclogging chute.
19.2
Shut the engine off and wait until
the blade comes to a complete stop
before removing the grass catcher
or unclogging chute.
When cleaning, repairing, or
inspecting, make certain the blade
and all mowing parts have stopped.
Disconnect the spark plug cap, and
keep the cap away from the plug to
prevent accidental starting.
19.3
After striking a foreign object, stop
the engine, disconnect the spark
plug cap, thoroughly inspect the
mower for any damage, and have
has specialized service station to
repair the damage before restarting
and operating the mower.
19.4
If the equipment should start to vi-
brate abnormally, stop the engine
and check immediately for the cau-
se. Vibration is generally a
warning of trouble.
20.
Stop the engine:
20.1
Whenever you leave the lawn
mower.
20.2
Before refuelling.
20.3
Before removing the grass catcher
or adjusting the cutting-height, wait
until the cutting-blade has come to
a complete stop.
21.
Reduce the throttle setting during engine
shut down and, if the engine is provided
with a shut-off valve, turn the fuel off at
the conclusion of mowing.
22.
When the engine is running the safety
distance, given by the handle, must always
be maintained.
23.
Put the handle of the starting-rope in the
ring situated on the handle-bar. Do not start
the engine in the position nearby the lawn
mower. When you start the engine, always
keep the safety distance given by the
handle.
MAINTENANCE AND
STORAGE
1.
Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be
sure the equipment is in a safe working
condition.
2.
Never store the equipment with gasoline
in the tank inside a building where fumes
may reach an open flame or spark.
3.
Allow the engine to cool before storing in
any enclosures.
4.
To reduce fire hazard, keep the engine,
silencer (battery compartment and petrol
storage), area free of grass, leavers, or
excessive grease.
5.
Check the grass catcher frequently for
wear or deterioration.
6.
Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
Use only original spare parts. Parts not
produced by manufacturer may cause poor
fit and possible injury.
7.
If the fuel tank has to be drained, this
should be done outdoors.
8.
Check or have a service station check the
blade and the engine mounting bolts at
frequent intervals for proper tightness do
