Switching On
Before switching on, observe the instructions in Chapter 1/: General Safety Instructions for IT Equipment and the
instructions within this chapter.
Switching On for the First Time
9.1.
The KBox A-150-SKL must be connected to a DC power supply complying with the SELV
(Safety Extra Low Voltage) requirements of EN 61010-1 standard.
Observed that wiring and short-circuit/overcurrent protection is performed according to the
applicable standards, regulations and in respect to the product’s electrical specification. The
disconnecting device (fuse/circuit breaker) rating must be in accordance with the product
wire cross-section.
Even when switched off via the power-on switch parts of the system are still energized. The
product is only completely switched off when the power has been switched off using the
power-on switch and the power cable (power wiring) is disconnected.
Following a proper cabling procedure prevents a false power-on condition, that could result
in operational failure. When you install/disconnect the product ensure that:
•
The functional earth connection is made first and disconnected last.
•
The last connection made to the product is the power wiring.
The wires used for power connections must be clearly marked (+/-/functional earth) to
ensure that the wires are connected to the DC input power connector and the DC main power
source properly. The cables and power wiring must be supported to minimize strain on the
connectors.
Before switching on the KBox A-150-SKL for the first time, wire the supplied DC mating power connector (PSC 1,5/3-F)
to the DC power supply as described in , see Chapter 8.3: Wiring the DC Mating Power Connector.
To switch on for the first time, perform the following:
1.
Switch off the external DC power supply via a disconnecting device (fuse/circuit breaker), to ensure that no
power is flowing from the external DC power supply during the connection procedure.
2.
Connect the protective earth stud bolt to an appropriate common earth connection point.
3.
Connect the wired DC mating power connector (PSC 1,5/3-F) to the DC Input power connector (Figure 3 and
Figure 4, pos. 1). Pay attention to the polarity of the connections, see Chapter 11.1.1: DC Input Power Connector.
4.
Connect the other end of the wired DC mating power connector to the external DC power supply.
5.
When connected to the DC power supply the system switches on and boots automatically.
Once connected to the DC power supply the KBox A-150-SKL can be switch off and switch on
using the front panel power-on switch.
