Blood Glucose Measurement with
These instructions are intended solely as a guide. Please read through the detailed operating
instructions carefully before using the BGStar
®
for the fi rst time.
Test site
Follow the instructions to prepare the lancing device. You will fi nd the instructions for the
lancing device in the BGStar
®
pack or overleaf.
Press the lancing device against the place where you would like to pierce the skin.
Press the trigger button. To take blood from other parts of the body, please read
the operating instructions.

Insert test strip
Insert the test strip into the test strip slot with the contacts showing upwards.
The meter will switch on automatically.
WARNING: To ensure accurate results, please wash your hands with warm soapy water
and dry them before each test.
Apply the test strip to the blood sample
The test strip draws the blood through the test area into the strip.

Remove the test strip from the blood sample when the bleeper sounds
Your meter will bleep once if no further blood needs to be drawn into the sample area of
the test trip. The progress bar and the ”1-2-3“ display indicate that the meter is calculating
your results.

Final steps
Your test is completed once your blood glucose result, with the time and date, is shown
on the display. By pressing the ”Confi rm“ key, you confi rm the mealtime marking and the
marking will stop fl ashing.
Remove the used test strip. The blood glucose meter switches off automatically.
Pull the cap off the lancing device and place the lancet cap on the lancet.
Remove the used lancet and dispose of it properly.
