Re-chargeable batteries should always be stored loaded.
To guarantee best battery performance the following rules should be observed:

Overloading of up to 24 hours does not damage the re-chargeable battery. Though frequent
overloading may reduce their life time.

Do not short plug the accumulator terminals. This causes the accumulator to run hot and
may cause permanent damage. Do not keep batteries in clothing or purses as terminals may
contact coins, keys, or other metal objects.

Do not charge any other batteries with the accumulator than re-chargeable batteries. Other
tape batteries may leak or explode.

Do not burn re-chargeable batteries, as they may explode!
10.2. Testing and exchanging batteries
A 9V battery is already included in delivery. To ensure the device’s operational reliability the battery
needs to be changed from time to time.
When replacing the battery proceed as follows:

Pull off the battery compartment’s lid downwards.

Remove the consumed battery from the battery compartment.

Insert a new 9V battery according to the drawing in the bottom of the battery compartment.
The destined polarity has to match.

Push the lid back upwards.
