7.0 VOLTAGE REDUCTION DEVICE (VRD)
The 300AP is equipped with a Voltage Reduction Device circuit that when enabled lowers the
Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) in STICK mode. This function is used in applications where a high
OCV in STICK mode is dangerous or applications where a lower OCV would be advantageous.
The 300AP is shipped from the factory with the VRD in the disabled mode. To utilize the VRD,
the user must enable the VRD function.
7.01 VRD Spectifications

terminals to turn ON the welding power.

The time taken to turn OFF the welding power
once the welding current has stopped.
7.02 Enabling/Disabling VRD
Switch the machine OFF.

Remove the clear plastic protection cover from the front panel (see Figure 7-1).

Lift up the cover so it rests on the top of the unit.
•
Place a small flat bladed screwdriver between the cover hinges on the front
panel. Gently lift the cover hinge out of the front cover mounting hole.
•
Remove the control’s clear plastic cover.
