Lifting the Machine
NOTE:
This lifting procedure applies to standard
machines. Check the operating weight of the
machine. See “Technical Specifications” on
page
1. Park the machine on firm, level ground, raise the dozer
blade, and swing the upper structure to the rear of the
machine.
2. Fully extend the arm cylinder and the bucket cylinder.
Raise the boom.
3. Place the hydraulic lockout control lever in the locked
(closed) position
4. Turn the key switch to OFF and remove the key.
5. Turn the battery disconnect switch to OFF and lock all
the doors.
6. Cover the exhaust opening to prevent contamination.
7. Use wire ropes and a spreader bar that have adequate
length to keep the machine free from damage
8. Lift the machine 10 in.–12 in. (25 cm–30 cm) and
check its balance. If it is not balanced, lower the
machine to the ground and adjust the boom or dozer
blade positions.
WARNING!
•
Make sure all lifting devices are in safe operating condition and with sufficient capacity
rating to safely support the intended load.
•
Never lift the machine with a person inside the cab.
•
Allow no one to stand close to or under a lifted machine.
•
Always lift with the longitudinal centerlines of the upper structure and undercarriage
parallel to each other.
•
Keep the hydraulic lockout control lever in the locked (closed) position to prevent
unexpected movement of the machine.
Failure to follow these warnings could result in death or serious injury.
