Radio Operation
WARNING
Turn the radio volume down to a level that allows
you to hear traffic signals, a horn, siren, and
bystanders. Failure to follow this warning could
result in death or serious injury.
NOTICE!
The radio could be easily damaged if penetrated
by water. When washing the machine, take care to
prevent water from getting on the radio. If water
does get on the radio, wipe it with a dry cloth.

The AM/FM button (2) is used to toggle between the AM
and FM bands. Press and release the AM/FM button to
cycle to FM 1, FM 2, FM 3, AM 1, and AM 2.
30 preset radio stations can be programmed:
• 18 FM radio stations (six each on FM 1, FM 2, and
FM 3).
• 12 AM radio stations (six each on AM 1 and AM 2).

Press and release the power button (4) once to turn
the radio on. The radio frequency is displayed on the
(LCD) (3). Press and release the power button to
mute the radio. Press and hold the power button to
turn the radio off.

Press the tuning buttons (5 and 6) to locate the
desired frequency. There are two tuning methods,
manual and automatic.

When a desired radio frequency is shown on the
LCD, press one of the preset buttons (1) for at least
1.5 seconds. The sound will disappear but will return
when the presetting operation (storing the frequency
to the memory) is completed.
The preset button number and frequency will be dis-
played, indicating completion of the presetting opera-
tion. After presetting the stations, press one of the
preset buttons for at least 1.5 seconds to tune in the
preset station.
NOTE:
The AS/PS button can be used to preset the
stations automatically. See “Automatic Tuning” on
page 3-33.

Press and release the power button (3) once to turn the
radio on. The radio frequency is displayed on the LCD
(2). Press and release the power button to mute the
radio; press and release again to un-mute the radio.
Press and hold the power button to turn the radio off.
NOTE:
The radio defaults to automatic tuning (scan). To
change between manual and automatic tuning,
press and hold one of the tuning arrow buttons (4
or 5).
Manual Tuning
Press and hold one of the tuning arrow buttons. Release
the button and then use the tuning buttons to manually
tune the radio until the desired radio frequency appears
on the LCD.
When the frequency reaches its maximum or minimum
limit, it will start over at the opposite end of the range.
Automatic Tuning
Press the AS/PS button (1) to automatically scan (AS)
through the preset stations (PS):
• Press and release the AS/PS button to cycle
automatically between preset stations. Press and
release again to stop the cycle and remain on the
current station.
• Press and hold the AS/PS button to scan the
complete frequency band and automatically assign
six preset radio stations, based on radio signal
strength.
