Connect the UPS emergency stop switch to the EPO terminal*. When the switch is pressed when there is an emergency, UPS output
will stop.
*. EPO stands for “Emergency Power Off”.
Step
Description
Remarks
1
1
Prepare the UPS emergency stop switch.
A switch for connection to the EPO terminal is not
provided as a UPS option.
Check the above specifications and then prepare, for
example, a switch that matches EPO terminal
specifications or a contact for your system.
2
2
If the UPS is running, stop the UPS by performing the procedure in “4.2.2
Shutting Down the UPS”.
Unplug the UPS input plug from the outlet or turn the
outlet breaker OFF, and shut down the UPS. Failure to
completely shut down the UPS may result in electrical
shock.
3
3
Connect the prepared switch prepared to EPO terminals 5 and 6.
3-1 Strip roughly 9 to 10 mm of insulation from the end of the wire.
3-2 Insert the wire into Terminal Nos. 5 and 6 while pressing the tab with an
insulated flat-head screwdriver.
3-3 Pull the wire to check it does not come out.
The terminals of REMOTE 1 to 4 are for connecting the
remote switch.
Be careful not to mix up the connecting terminals.
EPO Terminal Specifications
• Circuit voltage: + 5 V DC (Terminal No. 6: Negative polarity)
• Current when short-circuited: Approx. 10 mA
• EPO activation conditions: Short between Terminal Nos. 5 and 6 for
0.2 seconds or longer
• EPO terminal: One-touch terminal block (compatible wire size: AWG
26 to 20)
EPO terminal
When using a transistor or other semiconductor switch,
connect Terminal No. 6 to the - (negative) pole side as
shown in the figure below.
(In the case of a non-polar switch, there is no specified
connection direction.)
