Replace the batteries periodically. Using a battery beyond its replacement time may result in battery leakage and, in
the worst case, smoke, a fire or a disaster. Replace them earlier as preventive maintenance.
To ensure reliable battery power use at the time of a power outage, replace the batteries periodically.
Check the time for battery replacement using the following methods A, B, and C, and if the result of one method indicates it is time to
replace the batteries, replace them. For battery replacement, contact your sales representative or SANYO DENKI.
When replacing the battery packs, replace the battery packs using the battery packs for this UPS.
The battery replacement procedure is described in the instruction manual supplied with the new battery packs.
When it has been determined that it is time to replace the batteries, contact your sales
representative or SANYO DENKI.
(1) Check the UPS installation date or previous battery replacement date on the “Installation date / battery replacement date
label” adhered at the time of installation or previous battery replacement.
(2) Determine the time for the next battery replacement from the date checked in step (1).
A, B, and C describe different ways to determine the battery replacement time, and therefore the result may differ for each
method. If the result of one method indicates it is time to replace the batteries, the batteries need to be replaced.
A
: Calculate the replacement time from the UPS installation date or previous battery replacement date.
B
: Run the batteries while running an electric device connected to the UPS, and determine the battery replacement time based
on whether or not backup was possible.
C
: Have the UPS predict the battery replacement time from the ambient temperature of the UPS installation location and
expected battery service life, and display a battery replacement time warning.
The time when the warning is displayed differs according to the ambient temperature of the installation location. The
determination is not made based on the deteriorated state of the installed batteries.
Determining the time for battery replacement
The battery service life is reduced by operating conditions such as ambient temperature and the number of discharge cycles.
Temperature has a particularly strong impact. A high ambient temperature foreshortens the battery service life. Additionally,
when the UPS is used in an environment with frequent power outages, the battery service life may be further foreshortened.
