Use of the Weighing Platform as a Legal
Measuring Instrument in the EU*
Components of a Legal Weighing Instrument
Your weighing platform is considered a modular device. Only when this
device is connected to a suitable Sartorius indicating and
operator terminal and has been verified in this configuration (a different
configuration can be specified for initial verification) does it constitute an
approved legal weighing instrument.
Therefore, a legal weighing instrument can consist of the following:
- a Sartorius
isi industrial te 1 to 3 weighing platforms
or
- a Sartorius
isi industrial te 1 weighing plup to 2 further
EC- or nationally type-approved weighing instruments.
As a weighing instrument, the weighing platform is not allowed to be used for
weighing goods intended for direct sale to the public. Since the platform's
type approval certificate for verification applies to non-automatic weighing
instruments only, you must comply with your country’s national regulations
that apply to the place of installation of your weighing Instrument for
automatic Operation with or without supplementary devices installed.
