§
When connecting peripheral devices (printer, PC) to
the RS-232 interface port of the scale (PMA7501-
Y00G), please ensure that the connector screws are
securely tightened.
Note:
Connecting Data Cables
$
The PMA.Net series is equipped with an Eth-
ernet interface and can either be directly con-
nected to the network interface of a PC, or via a
10BaseT/100BaseTX LAN.
The data interface port has a protective cap. If you
are not using the data interface port, please replace
the protective cap.
§
Connect the Ethernet cable, and secure it with the
provided strain relief.
Operate the equipment (or scale) only with a cable
protected by strain relief or, if no cable is connected,
with the connector cap in place.
Connection to AC Power
The equipment is powered through the AC adapter
supplied. Make sure that the voltage rating printed
on the AC adapter or power supply is identical to
your local AC power rating. When connecting the
scale to the power supply, the laws valid in your
country must be observed. If you should have any
questions, please contact your supplier or Sartorius
Customer Service for information on the legal regu-
lations applicable in your country. Use only original
Sartorius AC adapters! The use of AC adapters from
other manufacturers, even if these units have a reg-
istered approval rating from a national testing labo-
ratory, requires the approval of a certified technician.
§
Insert the right-angle plug into the DC jack (13) on
the scale
Note:
!
When installing the scale in Zone 2 areas, connec-
tors may only be plugged in or disconnected with
the power completely switched off in a currentless
/ zero-voltage state. Disconnect the scale from AC
power before connecting the AC adapter or periph-
eral devices (printer, PC), cables or electronic
peripheral.
§
The scale may only be operated when you have fas-
tened the right-angle plug using the safety retainer.
§
Plug the AC adapter into an electrical AC power outlet.
!
Observe the safety instructions and warnings in this
manual. Furthermore, please refer to the section on
safety instructions in the chapter on
“Documents."
