Adjusting the Off-Center Error
Note:
Following adjustment of the off-center loading error, the span and linearity
must be tested and, if necessary, adjusted.
Procedure for Adjusting the Off-Center Loading Error (Double-Lever System
with Adjustment Screws (P))
Use a 3-point measurement to determine the off-center loading error.
The off-center loading error of the balance is indicated by the results of the
3-point measurement.
Note: The balance/scale must be opened to adjust the off-center loading error.
– Open the balance/scale (see page 48).
– Re-connect power, if disconnected.
Caution:
From this point, you will be working on an opened balance/scale
while the equipment is carrying voltage.
– The adjustment screws (see arrows) are now accessible.
– Adjust both screws to set the off-center loading error
(see illustrations on the left).
– To test the adjustment of the off-center loading error, close the balance/
scale and position the weighing pan/load plate on the balance/scale.
– Allow approximately 3 to 5 minutes for the balance/scale to warm up.
– Perform the 3-point adjustment as described on page 43.
