Telephone Model:
SBC-6020/SBC-6028-2HC/SBC-60HC
Issue
: Telephone will not charge.
Reason
: The battery contact has been bent incorrectly due to improper battery insertion.
(See Figure 1)
Corrective action:
Bend the left battery contact outward in order to allow battery
terminal to touch the battery. (See Figure 2) A small screwdriver or paper clip can be
used as an appropriate tool for bending the battery contact.
Test for Success
:
Re-insert the batteries into the phone. Take careful note of the proper direction the
batteries should be facing. (See figure 3.) The yellow stripe should be down on the left
battery. The right battery should have the yellow stripe on top.
Place the phone into the charger and the red charging light should turn on.
Wait 5 minutes for the phone to slightly charge. Press any key on the handset. The
Handset Screen should turn on. Continue to charge the batteries for 15 hours to ensure
optimal battery performance.
Caution
: Only use the rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride batteries which were
supplied with the phone. DO NOT USE alkaline batteries such as Duracell, Energizer or
Rayovac AAA alkaline batteries. These types of batteries do not support charging and
will damage the telephone.
