These installation and operating instructions apply to several
product models.
Thus there may be slight differences between certain details and
equipment on your appliance and those described in the instruc-
tion manual.
Important advice and information
This product is intended for private use only and is designed to
store and freeze food.
The following safety rules must be observed. We cannot accept
liability or any guarantee obligation for any material or corporal
damage that occurs as a result of these recommendations not
being complied with.
The product must be installed, secured if necessary, and used
in compliance with the recommendations in these installation
and operating instructions in order to avoid damage and danger
caused by any unstable positioning or improper installation.
If the product is transported in a horizontal position, it must be
positioned vertically. The appliance should then be left two hours
before connecting it. A small amount of oil may have seeped
out of the cooling circuit, and this needs time to run back to
the engine before the product is connected, otherwise it may
be damaged.
If the product is fitted with wheels, please bear in mind that they
are only intended to facilitate small movements.
Do not use them to move the refrigerator over larger distances.
Clean the refrigerator before connecting it to the electricity sup-
ply. The plug must be disconnected from the socket before any
maintenance is carried out. Do not pull the cable: hold the plug
firmly to pull it out of the socket.
Never put bottles or glasses containing liquid in the freezer un-
less they are ⅔ full or less: the liquid will expand when frozen
and the container is likely to burst.
Do not use any methods other than those shown in this guide to
accelerate defrosting.
Do not use electrical appliances inside the boxes designed to
store frozen food unless the manufacturer recommends it.
Do not let children play with the product, and keep pets away
from it. Appliances to be discarded must be rendered inoperable
immediately. Disconnect the plug from the socket and cut the
wire flush with the product. Make sure the door is made unus-
able, or remove it completely to prevent a child or an animal
from being locked inside it at play.
If problems arise that cannot be solved by using our advice (see
“Trouble-shooting” section), you are requested only to contact
our authorised service centres or a qualified repairman.
The cooling circuit in the refrigerator/freezer contains refrigerant
isobutane (R600a), a natural non-polluting gas, which is, how-
ever, flammable. Make sure that none of the refrigeration cir-
cuit components is damaged during transport and installation. In
the event of any damage, the refrigerator/freezer must be kept
away from open flames and all sources of heat or ignition, and
the room must be ventilated.
It only possible to secure good conditions for storing food and to
obtain an optimised power consumption by carrying out a proper
installation and complying with the recommendations given in
this manual.
To limit the product’s electricity consumption:
- Place the freezer in a suitable place.
- The door must only be opened for as short a time as pos-
sible. Do not put foods that are still hot into the freezer, in
particular soup or other dishes that give off a lot of steam.
- Be sure to keep the product at optimum functionality by
cleaning the condenser at regular intervals (see “General
maintenance of the product”).
- Check the seals around the door regularly, and make sure
that they can always close properly. If this is not the case,
contact the service centre.
In compliance with the latest laws regarding environmental
protection, the product contains no CFCs, but it does contain a
refrigerant gas known as R600a. The exact type of gas is clearly
stated on the data plate located on the inside of the refrigerator,
bottom left.
R600a is a non-polluting gas that does not destroy the ozone
layer, and hence does not contribute to the greenhouse effect.
There may be trickling sounds coming from the product. This is
normal, and they are caused by the interplay of compressor oil
and refrigerant.
