Cleaning the Drive Rollers and Transport Area
1.
Remove the wrapping from a transport cleaning sheet
(part number 896 2201).
2.
Adjust the paper feeder guides to fit the cleaning
sheet.
3.
Feed the transport cleaning sheet, adhesive side up
and in portrait orientation, through the scanner by
placing it in the input tray and scanning. Repeat this
procedure until all residue is removed from the top
drive rollers.
4.
Using the same cleaning sheet, repeat Step 3, but this
time with the transport cleaning sheet adhesive side
down and in landscape orientation (so that you are
using fresh adhesive). Repeat this procedure until all
residue is removed from the bottom drive rollers.
NOTE:
When a cleaning sheet gets very dirty, discard it
and use a new one.
5.
If the transport cleaning sheet does not clean the
rollers and the transport area sufficiently, use an
emulsiclean wipe (part number 137 4966). Manually
rotate and wipe the white and red drive rollers with the
emulsiclean wipe.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE THE EMULSICLEAN
WIPE ON THE FOAM TIRES
. The tires will
absorb the liquid and will have to dry out before
you can resume scanning.
