Chapter 7: Cleaning the Scanner
This chapter covers how to clean your scanner to keep
it in top operating condition.
Schedule
In general, it is best to clean your scanner once a
month. However, you may need to clean your
scanner’s read heads more frequently depending on
the following:
•
Paper dust - Sheets that generate more paper dust
will necessitate more frequent cleaning. Perforated
sheets generate a considerable amount of paper
dust.
•
Read head contamination - Eraser fragments and
correction fluid, if used, can build up on the read
head.
