6.3 Battery monitor
Automatic disconnector
The battery monitor compares the voltage of the living area battery to a refer-
ence voltage. As soon as the battery voltage falls below 10.5 V, all 12 V con-
sumers are switched off. Only the entrance step, the frost protection valve and
the AES refrigerator are still powered. The automatic disconnector is not trig-
gered by short-term low voltage (less than 2 seconds), caused by high current
when switching on consumers.
If overload or an insufficiently charged living area battery causes the voltage
to fall so low that the automatic disconnector is triggered, any consumers
which are not essential should be switched off.
You may be able to switch on the 12 V power supply for a short time. To do
this, switch on the 12 V main switch on the control and switch panel.
However, if the battery voltage remains below 11.0 V, you cannot switch on
the 12 V power supply.
Fully charge up the living area battery as soon as possible. For more informa-
tion see the description of battery voltage.
7 Maintenance
The Electrobloc EBL 208 S G requires no maintenance.
Cleaning
Clean the Electrobloc with a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild detergent.
Never use spirit, thinners or similar substances.
Do not allow fluid to penetrate the inside of the Electrobloc.
8 Shutting down the system
Disconnecting the living
area battery from the
12 V power supply
Disconnect the living area battery from the 12 V power supply if you are not
going to use the motorhome for a lengthy period (for example during the win-
ter).
❱
Switch off the 12 V main switch on the control and switch panel.
❱
Set the battery cut-off switch on the Electrobloc to "Battery off".
❱
On the solar charge regulator, pull out the "+ Solar cell" plug if you are
going to remove the battery.
❱
Pull out the fuse for the AES refrigerator.
▲
When the living area battery is separated from the Electrobloc by the bat-
tery cut-off switch, the frost protection valve of the heater system opens.
Water may be lost.
▲
Before and after shutdown, the living area battery must be fully recharged
to avoid battery damage. For this purpose the vehicle must be connected
to mains supply for a minimum of 12 hours with an 80 Ah battery and
16 hours with a 160 Ah battery.
▲
Do not operate the Schaudt solar charge regulator without a battery. This
might damage the solar charge regulator or any connected consumers. If
the battery is going to be changed or removed, please first take off the pos-
itive lead "+ Solar Module" on the solar charge regulator.
▲
The living area battery can also be charged using the internal charger
module, the solar charge regulator and the alternator when the battery cut-
off switch is switched off.
