10. Cleaning and maintenance
Before putting away or cleaning the grass trimmer,
switch off and remove the battery pack.
Cleaning
•
Regularly check the device before starting work
•
Damaged parts have to be repaired or replaced by
an authorised service department before you can
work with the device
•
Only ever use original accessories and spare
parts.
•
Use the device only with batteries and chargers
intended for it.
•
Do not use the charger if it is damaged.
•
Using other components can lead to fire.
•
Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor
housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible.
Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it
down with compressed air at low pressure.
•
We recommend that you clean the equipment im
-
mediately after you use it.
•
Clean the equipment regularly with a damp cloth
and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents
or solvents; these may be aggressive to the plastic
parts in the equipment. Ensure that no water can
get into the interior of the equipment. The ingress
of water into an electric tool increases the risk of
an electric shock.
•
Use a brush to remove deposits from the safety
guard.
Maintenance
There are no other parts inside the equipment which
require maintenance.
Service information
Please note that the following parts of this product
are subject to normal or natural wear and that the fol
-
lowing parts are therefore also required for use as
consumables.

Turning on/off (Fig. 5)
•
To switch the lawn trimmer on and off, hold it firmly
with one hand on the rear handle and the other
hand on the front handle (2/4).
•
In order to turn your lawn trimmer on, press the
dead man switch (3) and the on/off switch (1)
•
In order to turn the lawn trimmer off, release the
on/off switch (1).
Using the grass trimmer as an edge trimmer
(Fig. 6)
To cut the edges of lawns and flower beds, the grass
trimmer can be converted as follows:
•
Remove the battery pack
•
Push the locking button (11) .
•
Turn the motor head until it latches in place (Fig. 6).
•
You can convert your lawn trimmer into an edge
trimmer this way and carry out vertical cutting of
the lawn.
•
When edge trimming, use the Edge wheel (Pos. 12)
•
To convert the equipment back to its original state,
proceed in reverse order.
Extending the cutting thread
Note! The lawn trimmer is equipped with auto
-
matic trimming thread adjustment
•
Start the lawn trimmer as described
•
Release the on/off switch (1)
•
Wait for two seconds
•
Press the on/off switch (1) again
Every time the process described above is re
-
peated, the length of the trimming thread in
-
creases approx. 6mm. The length of the trimming
thread is defined by the cutting blade.
Adjusting the trimming diameter (fig. 9)
•
Remove the battery (13).
•
/Remove the Philips screws of the cutting blade (9)
from the protective cover (8).
•
Rotate the cutting blade (9) through 180°.
•
Fasten the cutting blade (9) to the protective cover
(8) again with the two Philips screws.
Turning the cutting blade results in two trimming
diameters of approx. 280 mm and 330 mm.
Changing the trimming thread (fig. 10/11)
•
Remove the cover on the cutting head by applying
pressure to the housing on both sides.
•
Take out the housing coil.
•
Replace the thread, insert the coil, simultaneously
draw the thread through the opening and replace
the cover.
Sharpening the cutting blade
•
Loosen the cutting blade‘s (l) cross-head screws
(9) from the protective hood (8).
•
Put the cutting blade (9) into a vice.
