• Thrown work pieces can lead to injury if the work
piece is not properly secured or fed, such as work-
ing without a limit stop.
• The use of incorrect or damaged mains cables can
lead to injuries caused by electricity.
• Even when all safety measures are taken, some re-
maining hazards which are not yet evident may still

19. Check the tool for damage
Before using the tool, safety devices and any
slightly damaged parts must be carefully checked
to ensure that they are in good working order. Vis-
ually examine the tool’s power cable on a regular
basis. All parts must be correctly assembled and
meet all the conditions required to ensure proper
operation.
Unless otherwise specified in the operating in

structions, any damaged safety devices and parts
must be properly repaired or replaced by a pro-
fessionally recognized workshop. Never use tools
with defective On/Off switches.

• Do not look directly into the laser beam with unpro-
tected eyes.
• Never look into the path of the beam.

with a low output can cause damage to the eyes.

Caution - methods other than those specified here
can result in dangerous radiation exposure.
• Never open the laser module. Unexpected expo-
sure to the beam can occur.
• If the drill press is not used for an extended period
of time, the batteries should be removed.
• The laser may not be replaced with a different type
of laser.
• Repairs of the laser may only be carried out by the
laser manufacturer or an authorised representative.
6. Residual risks
The machine has been built using modern technol-
ogy in accordance with recognized safety rules.
Some remaining hazards, however, may still exist.
• Long hair and loose clothing can be hazardous when
the work piece is rotating. Wear personal protective
gear such as a hair net and tight fitting work cothes.
• Wood chips and saw dust can be health hazard. Be
sure to wear personal protective gear such as safe-
ty goggles and a dust mask. Use a vacuum exhaust
system.
