2.5. Connecting the USBCam2
IMPORTANT!
Do not connect the USBCam2 and cable to your computer until after you
have successfully installed the USBCam2 driver, as described in the previous sections.
The USB 2.0 cable used with the camera has a Series "A" USB
connector on one side and a Series "B" USB connector on the other
(Figure 1). The "A-type" connector fits any available USB port on
the computer. The "B-type" connector fits the handpiece. For EMC
and EMI compliance, the USB cable should not exceed a maximum
length of 5 meters (5.5 yards).

As a final check that your USBCam2 is ready for use, open the
Device Manager (Windows
Start

Control Panel
>
System
>
Device
Manager
). In Device Manager, expand the Imaging devices
folder: Schick Technologies USBCam2 will be displayed there.
