Operating Principle
of Buffers
The operating principle of the buffer is as follows:
An electric control switch is used to signal the plunger position. The switch is operated
as soon as the plunger is actuated. The switch returns to its original state once the
plunger has returned to its original position.

The buffer head is impacted, forcing the plunger to move along inside the
cylinder.

The oil in the oil chamber is forced through the port holes in the metering
tube. These ports have different sizes and positions.These are arranged to
give different characteristics to each buffer.

The resulting plunger motion causes the piston to compress gas in the gas
chamber.

When the load is removed, the gas then expands thus returning the plunger to
its original position.
