VIDEO PROC:
This button is used to access menus for the video proc amp.
The Proc Amp controls allow adjustments of the selected input signal. Video Level, Setup,
Chroma Level, Hue, and Y/C Delay may be used to correct errors in the incoming signal.
Note: a “PROC” icon will appear on the left side of the display when any Proc Amp control
is set to a non-unity value.
Menu:
Proc Amp Enable:
This menu is used to enable or disable all Proc Amp controls.
When set to
ON
, the Proc Amp controls (Level, Setup, Chroma, Hue, and Y/C Delay)
are active. When set to
OFF
, the Proc Amp controls are bypassed (unity gain) and any
control settings are ignored.
Use the Knob or +/- buttons to adjust.
Menu:
Level (Contrast):
This menu is used to adjust the level (or contrast) of the video inputs.
Range of adjustment is 0 to 200%, with a default value of 100%.
Use the Knob or +/- buttons to adjust.
Menu:
Setup (Brightness):
This menu is used to adjust the black level (or brightness) of the video inputs.
Range of adjustment is -58% to +58%, with a default value of 0%.
Use the Knob or +/- buttons to adjust.
Menu:
Chroma (Color):
This menu is used to adjust the color saturation of the video inputs.
Range of adjustment is 0 to 200%, with a default value of 100%.
Use the Knob or +/- buttons to adjust.
Menu:
Hue (Tint):
(HUE MODE)
This menu is used to adjust the color hue (or tint) of the video inputs, and select the hue mode.
Range of adjustment is -50 to +50 degrees with a default value of 0 degrees.
Rotate the Knob or use +/- buttons to adjust.
The Hue Mode selects which method is used to calculate hue. The Hue Mode is displayed
as “(component)” or “(composite)”.
The
Component Hue
setting calculates the video hue based on equal scaling of the x,y
color space. This method is typically used in component digital equipment.
The
Composite Hue
setting calculates the video hue based on the unequal scaling of
NTSC/PAL color space. This method more closely resembles a traditional NTSC hue control.
Push on Knob to change (toggle) the Hue Mode.
Menu:
Y/C Delay:
This menu is used to adjust the horizontal (side to side) position of the color
portion of the video inputs with respect to the luminance (black and white) portion.
Can be used to correct color smear artifacts produced by VTR’s.
Use the Knob or +/- buttons to adjust.
