If the feed finger is not adjusted properly, please follow the directions below.
1.
Bring a terminal over the anvil and engage the
terminal brake (1).
2.
Ensure the press is at top-dead-center and that
the feed finger is completely pushed backward.
3.
Loosen the lock nut (2) on the backstroke
adjustment screw to release the feed finger.
4.
Turn the adjustment screw to re-position the
finger as needed.
a.
Counterclockwise
moves the finger to the
left which
increase the backstroke
.
b.
Clockwise
moves the finger to the left
which
decreases the backstroke
.
5.
Tighten the lock nut (2) on the screw.
6.
Slowly cycle the press and confirm position. Re-
adjust as necessary.
6.2.3
Forward stroke adjustment
1.
Install the ferrule strip to the end of the track,
as in Fig. 4, and remove the funnel unit if
installed.
2.
Ensure the terminal strip is fully engaged by
performing at least one cycle.
3.
Slowly lower the press ram until the feed
finger is completely pushed forward.
4.
The terminal should comes to rest over the
insulation support as shown in Fig. 5.
Tip:
Start with the largest ferrule for a given applicator to adjust back stroke.
