5.1 PROFINET Diagnostics
The safety fieldbox SFB-PN can detect module faults and device port faults.
In case of module faults, the SFB-PN is completely passivated and
acknowledgement is made by the PROFIsafe acknowledgement mechanism.
Module faults are for example, over temperature of the SFB-PN, under voltage
or internal module faults.
In case of device port faults, only the affected device port X0 - X7 is passivated
and the acknowledgement is made by the device port acknowledgement
mechanism. Device port faults are for example, cross-faults on the device
connection cables or faults in the connected safety switchgear.
The SFB-PN sends diagnostic alarms to the F-PLC for each detected fault.
These are stored in the diagnostic buffer of the F-PLC and can be analysed and
visualised.
