SLC/SLG 415 I – SET-UP OF THE MUTING FUNCTION
The SLC/SLG 415I system can use 2 or 4 muting sensors. The
electrical connection is done using the M12 connector on the front
part of the light curtain/grid. These sensors may be of various types
(proximity switch or optical/capacitive sensors etc.) with PNP
output and DARK-ON output.
When connecting 4 sensors, two methods of operations are
possible:
1) concurrent
or
2) sequential.
CONNECTION WITH 2 EXTERNAL SENSORS
This configuration is two-way and can be used for protecting
material transport passing through danger zones.
The point of intersection of the two muting sensors must be located
inside the dangerous area to prevent accidental activation of the
muting function.
The muting function is activated following concurrent interception
(within max. 4 s ) of the light beams of muting sensors S1 and S2.
The muting function continues as long as both sensors are
occupied. When the first of the two sensors is cleared, the muting
function is disabled.
When using 2 muting sensors, the maximum muting duration
can be set to 30 seconds or 90 minutes.
CONNECTION WITH 4 EXTERNAL SENSORS
When using 4 sensors, two methods of operation are possible,
both of which are two-way:
Concurrent
The muting function is activated following concurrent interception of
the light beam (within max. 4 s ) of sensors S1 and S2 and then S3
and S4 (or first S4 and S3, then S2 and S1 in the opposite
direction).
The muting status ends after clearing the light beam of sensor
S3 or S4 (or S1 or S2, if the material moves in the opposite
direction).
Sequential
The muting function is activated when the light beams of muting
sensors S1 and S2 are intercepted. The object passes through the
opening and intercepts the light beams of muting sensors S3 and
S4, before S1 and S2 are clear again. The correct order is shown
in Figure 4.
When using 4 muting sensors, the maximum muting duration
can be set either to 30 s or without time restrictions.
