5.5.2 Muting lamp
The Muting mode must be indicated by an external lamp. Connect this lamp to the sensor connector plate
(ML) using a 3 pin cable connector. The muting lamp is not monitored, i.e. the control unit of the SLG 422/425I-P does
neither check the electric connection nor the illuminant.
5.5.3 Illuminants
The muting lamp requires an LED block with a lifecycle of 50,000 operating hours. We recommend to use
the muting lamp type MK2.
The light signals the following operating states:

Blinking of the muting light may indicate the following errors:
Muting cycle duration exceeded.
Conveyor stoppage time exceeded.
Non-observance of sequence or simultaneouness of signal states of MS.

The muting cycle is started upon activation of the switch outputs of two muting sensors.
The signal sequence and the muting state are shown in the following graph.
Parameter setting: Muting operation with 2 sensors, directional detection 1, premature termination not active
The muting function is activated after MS 1 and subsequently MS 2 have been dimmed by the material.
(directional detection 1). Next, the material dims the protective field of SLG 420, MS 1 and subsequently
MS 2 . The muting cycle is terminated as soon as MS 1 is no longer dimmed.
The parameters for the muting operation are set with the PC Software release SLC4Kunde.exe.
Connect the BUS Converter NSR-0801 to the SLG 425IP and a PC/laptop. For wiring instructions please refer to
the manual of the BUS Converter NSR-0801.
