Elevator positioning system USP 30 / 100
Trouble Shooting USP Installation
The USP receiver comes with two LED’s in its housing. One of these LED’s may show a green,
yellow or red colour (multicolour LED). These colours are codes for different troubles. With this
manual we want to help you to use our experience and the experiences of our clients. The refe-
rences (A to E) relate to the table of the LED indication on page 28.
Voltage Control LED (LED 1)
(page 62 - Reference A)
The voltage control LED must always show a green light. If it does not, you should check the
24 Volt power supply for the USP receiver.
In the following chapter we will concentrate on the multicolour LED (2).
Multicolour LED (LED 2)
This LED may show
• green, short yellow and flashing yellow
⇒
normal operation modus
• yellow and red
⇒
indication of trouble
Normal operation mode
Green
(page 62 - Reference B)
The USP receiver receives a clear ultrasonic signal. It can read this signal and can convert it into
an absolute position value. This is the normal operation mode.
Flashing yellow (only USP 100)
(page 62 - Reference C)
The initial ride of the USP 100 receiver has started. There is no failure as this is a normal condi-
tion. The receiver is busy to receive the impulses of the correction sensor. After completion the
LED will show no light. In order to allow a normal operation after start up, you need to switch the
unit off and on again.
Short Yellow
(page 62 - Reference D)
After you switch on the power supply the receiver will define the position of the sender. During
this very short interval the LED shows a yellow light. As soon as the first ultrasonic signal is re-
ceived without problem the LED will switch to green. As this interval is very short, you may not
even recognize the yellow light.
