2. Product description.
2.1 Material information
Individual parts (nuts, bolts and screws etc.) are galvanised, plated with
nickel or made of stainless steel. The padded parts are made of PU foam
with a fire-retardant coating made of expanded Vinyl. The frames are
made from steel or aluminium with a stove-enamel finish. Some frame ele-
ments can also be made from stainless steel. The straps are made from
polypropylene or nylon textiles. The plastic parts are injection moulded
from various synthetic resins. All materials are free of latex, lead and pht-
halates.
2.2 Handling / transport
The gait trainer is not designed to be carried, as it is fitted with castors.
Should you have to carry the equipment due to obstacles, ensure that
all moving parts are tightened. Then separate the top frame from the
sub-frame (see
Points 3.1
and
3.2
) for sizes 1-4 and carry the top frame
and the sub-frame separately. In order to transport the gait trainer, re-
duce all adjustments to their most compact size (lower top frame, forearm
supports etc.).
Tighten all moving parts prior to carrying!
2.3 Application areas, use according to the intended purpose
The
dynamic pacer.
gait trainer is a medical product of risk class 1 and is sui-
ted for indoor and outdoor use. It supports users when learning to walk and
in the event of impaired mobility. Any other use or use over and above this
purpose shall be considered not in accordance with the intended purpose.
2.3.1 Indication
The
dynamic pacer.
gait trainer is suited for:
• Users with impaired mobility with damage to movement/coordination/ba-
lance (e.g. in the event of damage to the central nervous system)
• Maintaining/promoting/ensuring walking and standing/of the
movement development/stabilisation of the posture (gait training and
learning to walk), also with partial or full weight relief
• Users with pronounced spasticity to channel the power of the user.
2.3.2 Contraindications
In general, the indications for walking training should be approved by a
doctor or orthopedist. It should therefore be clarified prior to procurement
whether contraindications exist for the patient.
In general, any type of pain represents a contraindication. No walking trai-
ner procurement should be carried out without having established before-
hand if the user suffers from a foot deformity requiring special care.
