Observe when washing:

This washing machine is exclusively intended for laun-
dry which is not contaminated with hazardous or inflam-
mable materials. 

This washing machine is not to be used with dry clea-
ning solvents under any circumstances! The majority of
cleaning solvents are potentially flammable / explosive!

Do not store or use petrol, paraffin or any other easily
 inflammable materials in the immediate vicinity of the
washing machine. Fire and explosion hazard!

Do not leave children unattended near the machine.

Keep pets away from the machine.

The machine is exclusively intended for washing or wet
cleaning and spinning of all fabrics bearing a care label
indicating their suitability for these methods.

When washing at high temperatures, do not touch the
hot loading window (danger of burns).

When washing at high temperatures, hot steam may
escape from the ventilation pipes behind the machine. 

If there is a puddle on the floor near the machine (hose
rupture, leakage or similar), wipe it dry and eliminate
the cause (see chapter «Problems»), otherwise
slipping hazard.

Do no place any objects on the top cover of the
machine: They might slip off and fall to the floor during
the spinning process.

Under no circumstances use any solvent-based deter -
gents in the washing machine. Textiles which  contain
 inflammable chemicals, solvent-based detergents, must
be rinsed well in clear water by hand before  washing.
There is a risk that parts of the machine could be da-
maged and poisonous vapour released. There is also a
risk of fire and explosion.

Before starting a wash programme make sure that
there is no foreign body in the drum and the detergent
drawer (coins, nails, paper clips, etc.).

When closing the door, make sure not to pinch your
 fingers.

Please observe that after interrupting a wash
programme, the laundry may still be very hot: Burn ha-
zard. 

Only remove cooled laundry from the drum.

Observe at the end of the programme:

Do not reach into the spinning drum.

Turn off the tap and switch off the power.

If the main switch (on the building side) is turned off
 without closing the water tap, the overflow protection
installed in the machine is ineffective.

When transporting your machine:

Fit the transport securing device.

Take care when transporting the machine! (risk of
injury!) Do not lift the machine by the fittings on the
front!

General safety information:

Do not stand on the machine.

Do not sit, lean or support yourself on the loading door.
(danger of tipping!)

Under no circumstances spray the machine with water
or clean it with a steam cleaner. 

If the machine is not needed for a longer period of
time, turn off the tap and disconnect it from the power
supply.

Touch the power plug with dry hands only. Only pull the
plug, do not pull the cable.

Repair work may only be executed by qualified and
 trained personnel and defective components may only
be replaced with original spare parts by Schulthess.
Inexpert repairs can cause considerable damage and
risk to the user. Modifications to the appliance are only
admissible after consultation with the manufacturer.  

If the mains lead to this device becomes damaged, it
must be replaced with a special lead available from the
manufacturer or the manufacturer's customer service. 

Detergents and laundry care agents must be kept out
of children’s reach. Store laundry detergents, aids and
other additives in a dry, cool place, as clumpy
detergent can lead to functional problems.

In case of doubt, ask Customer Service or a  dealer.

Environmental protection and
efficiency recommendations

Your washing machine will operate most efficiently and
most environmentally friendly if you fill it with the maxi-
mum laundry quantity. 
Do not exceed the maximum specified laundry quantity.
See programme survey, chapter «Washing».

How to save energy:

Whenever possible, select a programme with the sup-
plementary funtion «Reduced washing temperature».
With these programmes, equivalent washing results
are achieved through an extended washing period with
significantly reduced energy sonsumption figures.

How to save water, energy and detergent:

Dispense with a pre-wash for normally soiled laundry.

How to save energy and time:

Press the «Express» button for lightly soiled laundry.

How to save detergent:

Add detergent according to water hardness, degree of
soiling and quantity of laundry and follow the instruc -
tions on the detergent packaging.
