5. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1.

This equipment, if improperly used, can cause physical and material damage. To avoid these dama-
ges, follow the instructions below:

•  The operation, maintenance, inspections and any interventions in the product, must be done for

enabled, qualifi ed and autorized people.

•  This equipment may not be used by children under any circumstances.
•  Do not use your eqipment while tired, under the infl  uence of medication, alcohol or drugs. Lack of

attention during operation may result in serious personal injury;

2.

This equipment:

•  While in use, has hot, electric and moveable parts;
•  Has type B (fl at blade with ground) plug with ground conductor. For your safety, do not eliminate the

ground terminal and do not use adapter with only 2 terminals – electric shock risk;

•  May cause mechanical or electrical interference on nearby sensitive equipments;
•  Requires maintenance and proper PPE (personal protective equipment) to be operated, such as dust

glasses, gloves, ear protection and safety shoes. This reduces the risks against personal injury.

•  Must be installed and operated in places that are ventilated and protected against moist presence

and water falling and must not operate in places where non-authorized people, children or animals
may have access to.

3.

To reduce the risk of electrical shock, the following is recommended:

•  For protection against electric shock, it is recommended to install a residual current circuit breaker.

Consult an electrician to select and install this safety device;

•  Do not use the equipment barefoot, in wet or very humid places, do not touch metal surfaces such

as pipes, motors, gutters, fences, windows, doors, metal gates, etc, this increases the risk of electric
shock;

•  Do not perform maintenance with the equipment ON, or remove the accessories, clean or touch the

electric parts without fi rst disconnecting the equipment from the power supply;

•  Never use conductor (extension cord) out of the specifi cations; the conductor must not contain spli-

ces. Do not make splices in the cord. If required, ask for a power cord replacement at the nearest
Schulz Authorized Dealer (The costs of power cable replacement are the sole responsibility of the
customer).

•  Power outlet must be compatible to the tool plug. To reduce the risk of shock, do not change the plug

characteristics and do not use adapters. If required, replace the outlet with a plug suitable model.

•  Never use the voltage selection switch with the plug conected in the grid.
•  Do not use your electric equipment in explosive atmospheres (gas, fl  ammable liquid or dust). The

motor and the grinding wheel generate sparks that may cause explosion;

•  Make sure the power trigger is in the “off” position before connecting the equipment to the power

grid.

4.

Always check the conditions of the grinding wheel.

5.

Do not stand in front of the grinding wheel when starting the equipment.

6.

To avoid accidents, do not use bench grinder without properly fastening it to a proper base. Always
fasten the part properly/accessory before starting work. If required, use clamps.

7.

Never operate the equipment close to fl ammable products.

8.

Always direct metal sparks to an area free of fl ammable substances, people, animals and any other
materials sensitive to metal sparks.

9.

Check that tension of the power supply matches the tension specifi ed for the product.

10.

The equipment model must be chosen in compliance with the established use. don’t exceed maxi-
