General

 

Setup and functioning of this gas-infrared heater 
conform to the applicable standards and safety 
regulations in the European Union. 
 
We request you to read this technical instruction 
carefully before using the device. Following the 
instructions and information mentioned here is a 
prerequisite for our warranty and is necessary for 
enabling a proper installation and a fault-free 
operation. 
 
The high-power heater lunaSchwank is meant 
exclusively for heating open areas and well 
ventilated rooms. Any other use or a use over and 
above this is considered as improper. SCHWANK 
GmbH will not be liable for resulting damages. The 
user alone will bear the resulting risk. 
 
 

Safety instructions 

This device is built according to state-of-the-art 
technology and the legally recognised safety rules. 
Still, in case of improper use, there can be hazards 
for the user or for a third party or an impairment of 
the device and loss of other assets.

Use the device only in the proper way and in a 
technically fault-free state. 

 

Make sure that all persons operating, 
mounting, installing, commissioning, servicing 
or repairing this device have read the technical 
instruction. Please preserve the technical 
instruction at the place of use. 

 

Pay attention to the generally applicable legal 
and other binding rules of accident prevention. 

 

Do not make any changes or build structures 
on or around the device without the explicit 
permission of SCHWANK. 

 

All spare parts must conform to the technical 
requirements. For this reason, use only the

Safety instructions for electrical 
equipment 

 

 

Electric shock hazard! 
You can get fatally wounded through electric 
shocks. 

 

Work on the electrical equipment of the device 
may be done only by a skilled electrician in 
accordance with the electro-technical rules. 

 

Regularly check the electrical equipment. 
Braised cables, etc. must be replaced 
immediately. 

 

Switch the device free of voltage when working 
at the electrical equipment. Safeguard the 
device against an unintentional switch-on. 

 

Safety while working with the device

 

 

Mounting, installation, initial commissioning, repair 
and maintenance work may be done only by a 
contractual installation company [VIU] qualified and 
authorised for this.  
 
If you have any queries, please get in touch with 
the respective customer service of SCHWANK.

installation 

 

 

Please follow the TECHNICAL RULES, 
worksheet G 638/I of DVGW.  

 

According to G 638/I, the initial commissioning 
may be done only by the manufacturer or by 
an authorised VIU. 

 

Fire hazard!  
Please adhere to the safety distances [see 
page 4 and 5] during mounting, see to it that 
the ignition device is easily accessible. 

 

Lay the gas and electrical lines in such a way 
that they cannot get heated by the rising 
exhaust gases or by the direct heat radiation. 
Only the heat-resistant cables may be used
