5 Setup
5.1 Setup of the SATCOM Transceiver
For optimal performance of the INMARSAT Transceiver HSD-400 within the
SCOTTY solution, the transceiver should be configured once.

necessary settings. In case the configuration has been damaged, follow these
directions.

See chapter 4.1 “EMSHSD SW” for details.
Alternatively, use a terminal emulation program like HyperTerm with

2. Make sure the serial port of your PC is connected to the HSD-400
3. Make sure the HSD-400 is powered up and has finished its initialization
4. Enter “maint” (no echo displayed). MENU 1 should be displayed.
Note: use “Ctrl+N” and “Ctrl+O” to navigate through the menus
5. Press “Ctrl+N” to switch to MENU 2.
6. Press “T” (enter time of day) and enter current date and time.
Follow the syntax given, e.g. “7/1/2008 9:50:00”
7. Press “Ctrl+N” to switch to MENU 3.
8. Press “M” (misc. eeprom parameters)
