SCOTTY DA-42 MPP Rack
6.2 Preparations
The “SCOTTY IRS Calibration Kit”, part number SD203652A, is required.
1. Disconnect the IRS system from the SCOTTY SATCOM Rack,
connector J17 (see Figure 8 for details).
2. Connect the “SCOTTY IRS System Breakout Cable”, part number
SD205848A, to the SCOTTY SATCOM Rack, connector J17, and to
the cable towards the IRS system.
3. Now, the IRS Breakout Cable should be placed between the IRS system
and the SATCOM Rack.
4. Connect the SRU breakout of the IRS Breakout Cable to a COM port of
a Windows computer, e.g. a Notebook. The kit includes a USB to serial
adapter, which may be used if only a USB port is available. The adapter
comes with a CD including the necessary Windows drivers.
NOTE: Using this adapter, the SATCOM Rack can be used as a
computer for the calibration. Connect the adapter to the USB port J5
(see Figure 8 for details), and the other side to the SRU breakout.
5. Install the “Chelton Antenna Support“ software by copying the
executable file from the CD to a local folder. The recommended version
is V1.14.0.0.
EXAMPLE: Create a folder named “SCOTTY IRS” on the Windows
Desktop, and copy the file “Chelton_Antenna_Support.exe“ into this
folder.
